Assam Ranji probables win

GUWAHATI, Sept 14 � Assam Ranji probables defeated Indian U-19 campers by 12 runs in a 50-over friendly match at Jain University ground, Bangalore today.

Batting first, Assam scored 254 for nine in 50 overs and in reply, Indian U-19 probables managed to score 242 all out in 48.3 overs, informed Assam manager Md Khalique.

Sarupam Purkayastha was the top performer for Assam as he scored 68 and took three wickets. Pritam Das (54), Pallab Das (39) and Rishab Das (23) were the other batsmen who offered notable contributions to the Assam total.

For the U-19 team, Akash Deep (59), Aparajit (53), Akhil (40) and Hanuman Bihari (36) were the useful contributors.

Tomorrow, Assam will play against the same team. All the Indian junior team selectors like Abey Kuruvilla, S Devvarman along with Sandip Patil were present during the match as the selection process of the Indian U-19 team is going on.
