GUWAHATI, July 6 Assam Police Blues was too good for Chandmari Sports Club as the cops earned a facile 7-0 victory in a pre-quarterfinal match of the Kaamaakaji NN Bhattacharya Football Tournament at the Nehru Stadium here today.

Chandmari boys were no match to the formidable policemen who were the dominating side from the word go. With better technique and speed, the police players outwitted their opponents and scored almost at will. Bijoy Rangmai opened the sluice gate in the 28th minute and just after one minute Robijit Jigdung made it 2-0. In the 37th minute, Joseph Maslai fired another salvo and the cops went into the break with scoreboard reading 3-0.

After the break, Rongmai struck again in the 57th minute while Bijoy Borgohain took the scoreline to 5-0 in the 65th minute. Joseph and substitute Sarbananda Sonowal scored the last two goals in the 74th and injury time respectively.
