SIVASAGAR, March 12 � Guwahati outfit Assam Police Blues entered into final of the ongoing 6th Assam State Premier Football League.
In the first semifinal played at the Pioli Phukan Stadium here today, the policemen edged out fancied Oil India Limited Football Club, Duliajan by the barest of margin. Lohit Taye netted the match winning goal in the 20th minute.
In was a fast-paced encounter from the word go with both the teams went all out with well planned moves.
The Duliajan team was distinctly dominating side with more ball possession. Particularly in the second session the OIL boys did everything but scored goal. They created several scoring opportunities but due to poor finishing they had to go empty hand.
In the second semifinal tomorrow Green Valley sports Club of Guwahati will lock horns with Nagaon outfit Radial Club.
