TIHU, Sept 9 - Assam Police Blues annexed the NSA Trophy defeating ASEB 6-5 via tie-breaker after a 1-1 draw in regulation time of the final match at the Gordon HS playground today.
Apurba Phukan of ASEB broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute while Jiten Roy equalised for the police outfit in the 48th minute. Apurba Phukan was adjudged the best player of the final.
Earlier, the final match was formally inaugurated by Sports Minister Naba Kumar Doley in the presence of former international football player Gilbertson Sangma, Assam Football Association secretary Ankur Dutta, Nalbari MLA Ashok Sarma, Barkhetri MLA Narayan Deka, among others.
