SHILLONG, March 17 (PTI) - Meghalaya Chief Minister DD Lapang Tuesday said Assam Government has agreed to allow the extension of railway from Tetelia in Assam's Kamrup district to Byrnihat in Ri Bhoi district of Meghalaya.
Addressing the media here after a Cabinet meeting, Lapang said the earlier railway alignment agreed upon between the two States was from Azara in Assam to Byrnihat in Meghalaya.
But it was later cancelled to pave way the new alignment, he said.
