Assam extends support for Manipur election

DISPUR, Feb 26 - In view of the Assembly elections in Manipur, Transport department of Assam Government is extending logistic support by means of vehicles. This initiative has been taken on the request of the Transport Department of Government of Manipur, a DIPR press release said.

For this purpose, the department has already initiated the requisition process to help the neighbouring State for smooth conduct of Assembly elections.

Mizoram launches PMAY

Aizawl, Feb 26 - Mizoram has launched Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana � Housing For All (Urban) at Lal Thanhawla Auditorium here recently.

The launching function was graced by Tourism Minister John Rotluangliana, Parliamentary Secretary Lt Col(rtd) ZS Zuala and Deputy Chief Whip RL Pianmawia.

Launching the scheme, Zodintluanga said that PMAY-Urban) is a Mission Programme under Union Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation till 2022.

The Minister said that the Scheme is meant for people whose annual income does not exceed Rs 1 lakh and that the beneficiary needs to own land for house construction.

PMAY-HFA (Urban) Mission will cover 20,000 households in 23 towns of Mizoram, and as of now DPR approval has been received for construction of 10,286 houses in eight district headquarters. Under the scheme, each beneficiary will get Rs 1, 50,000. � Newmai News

Flower plantation drive

IMPHAL, Feb 26 - LeTz pAiNt tHe EaRtH gReEn(LptEg), a Facebook group of professionals working in diverse fields has launched a flower plantation drive in Imphal.

A good number of flowering and foliage plants were also hung around the women market complex and under the Imphal overbridge.

The group members in collaboration with �Blooming Manipur� took up a flower plantation cum �Let our town bloom with flowers� intiative in the heart of Khwairamband Keithel here recently.
