GUWAHATI, Nov 1 - Assam suffered an innings and 29-run defeat against Odisha in the U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy match today at the ACA Stadium in Barsapara here.
In reply to Assam�s first innings total of 93, the visitors notched up 187. In their second essay, the hosts were bundled out for a paltry 67 and as a result Odisha gathered seven points with the innings victory.
On the other hand, Assam went down to hosts Chandigarh by a margin of seven wickets in their U-23 CK Nayudu Trophy match. Assam scored 199 all out in 47.3 overs and in reply, Chandigarh scored 200 for the loss of three wickets in 29.3 overs. The hosts rode on a brilliant knock of 100 off 85 balls by Md Arslan Z Khan.
