SILCHAR, Nov 10 - At lunch Assam were 195 for 6 in 68 overs on the fourth and final day and then it needed only 6.2 overs to achieve the target of 232 runs losing no further wickets.

Thanks to a well complied innings of 43 runs by Romario Sharma who with a brilliant six took his team to a 4 wicket win over Haryana in the plate B encounter in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy tournament that ended at the SM Dev stadium here today.

Earlier, Sunzow Brahma played a solid knock contributing 61 runs. RM Saini was the pick of the bowlers for Haryana. He picked up three wickets for 74 runs in 20 overs. Haryana players had to blame themselves on the field as they looked largely out of sorts with sloppy fielding and dropping catches at crucial points during the match.

Meanwhile, coaches of both the teams hailed the ground staff and curator of Silchar DSA for giving such a sporting wicket. After the win, Assam coach RK Yadav said the boys had the belief that they can achieve the target. He praised Sunzow for his valuable innings and said that they are looking at the results of the Railways match against Chhattisgarh for the points. Yadavs counterpart Ranvir Singh admitted that the players did not grab the opportunities that came their way which cost them the match.
