GUWAHATI, Jan 10 � The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi has awarded Ashadeep the DEROZIO Award in recognition of outstanding service to education and human enrichment for the year 2013.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh, a gold medal, a silver plaque, a citation and a certificate.
Ashadeep, the society for the rehabilitation of the mentally ill based in Guwahati has been able to usher new hope in the lives of the mentally ill as well as the homeless mentally ill men and women. Apart from looking after the treatment, the organisation has also relentlessly worked for generating awareness on the illness and removing the stigma attached with it. The award was presented to Dr Anjana Goswami, Director of Ashadeep by Dr HR Bhardwaj, Governor of Karnataka at an award-giving ceremony held at Bishop Cotton School, Bengaluru recently.
