ASEB outplay FC Green Valley

GUWAHATI, Sept 6 - Defending champions ASEB Sports Club handed a 3-0 drubbing to fancied FC Green Valley in the RG Baruah Super Division Football League at the Nehru Stadium here today.

Playing like champions, ASEB outplayed the opponent in every departments and perhaps they were in peak form today in this season.

With today�s victory, ASEB garnered 5 points from four outings with one win, two draws and a loss. On the other hand FC Green Valley settled with 7 points from as many matches with two wins and a draw.

After a barren first session defender Biplob Kundu drew the first blood in the 58th minute while Jessy Vanlalmuana doubled the lead in the 67th minute. Syed Ansar made the match one sided scoring the third goal in the 84th minute.

Receiving the ball from skipper Sanjoy Boro, overlapping defender Biplob unleashed a low drive and the ball entered into the goal kissing Green Valley defender Satwinder Singh�s leg.

Jwmbla Brahma set the ball for Jessy from the right flank and Jessy drove home with second attempt from inside the small box. Green Valley goal keeper Cheerandeep Chattopadhaya could be held responsible for the third goal as he neglected in collecting the high ball and follower Syed easily beat him with a soft header.

Today, ASEB defenders-Mitradev Swargiary, Biswajit Boro, Biplob Kundu and Hiteswar Narzary showed their character and virtually bottled up the Green Valley attackers Michael Lucky, George Prince and Gaiham Rongmei. The defenders hardly left any space for the wily Nigerian strikers of the Green Valley team.

ASEB skipper Sanjoy also played the role of a true game maker and fed his frontliners with frequent passes.

Dynamo win: Dynamo Club posted a 2-0 victory against Rajbari Athletic Club in the A Division League.

Arindom Deb netted both the goals in the 38th and the 83rd minutes respectively.

Today�s matches: Navajyoti vs NF Rly (Super Division); Sporting Union vs City Police (A Division).
