Arunachal wins Skoch award 2014

ITANAGAR, Nov 23 � The Department of Skill Development & Employment Generation, Government of Arunachal Pradesh has bagged a �certificate of merit� under Skoch Renaissance Awards 2014 for its outstanding performance in the area of skill development and employment generation in the State.

State�s Skill Development & Employment Generation programme was adjudged as �India�s Best Project-2014� under the Skoch Renaissance Awards by Skoch Group, a New Delhi based consultancy services group, for the efficient implementation of the programme in the State for the benefit of the youth � mostly less educated and school dropouts.

This was divulged by Director of Skill Development & Employment Generation, Subu Tabin, who received the certificate of merit in the awards ceremony, held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on November 21 last.

The award was given away by Union Urban Development & Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu.

�Started with a massive job mela cum skill development trainees� selection rally at Itanagar in August 2013 and subsequently in districts during 2013-14, the programme went on flourishing � a phenomenon for rest of the country with many States emulating our success story and visiting the State to have a close interaction with our officials to know the secret of our success,� he said.
