Arunachal Panchayat bodies to be strengthened

ITANAGAR, Jan 30 � The three-tier Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in Arunachal Pradesh shall be entrusted with full powers by devolving them the 3F�s � functions, functionaries and finances, soon. This was stated by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki while inaugurating the CO headquarters at Silsango under his Assembly segment, Sagalee, in Papum Pare district on Monday.

Tuki also mentioned that the Lokayukta Bill is likely to be tabled in the State Assembly very soon, adding that misuse of public fund will then lead to legal action.

�The PRIs will be made fully functional soon for which process of recruitment of functionaries is on full swing in various districts,� he informed and appealed the Panchayat members to judiciously utilise whatever fund allotted to them.

While addressing the gathering, the CM requested the GBs and Panchayat members to cooperate with the Circle Officer of Silsango for smooth running of the local administration.

During the visit, Tuki was accompanied by Lok Sabha MP Takam Sanjoy, Minister of Food & Civil Supplies Kamlung Mossang and Parliamentary Secretary for Planning Nabam Rebia, among others.
