Arunachal NGO provides relief to Assam flood victims

ITANAGAR, July 28 - Lending its helping hands to the people distressed by the worst-ever flood in the neighbouring State, Kristi Kendra, Naharlagun has distributed relief materials to more than 350 flood-hit families of Assam�s Gohpur sub-division recently.

Altogether, 250 families of Golsepa-Kuhimari village and 110 families of Dipara village of Gohpur under Biswanath district, who were severely affected in the recent deluge caused by Brahmaputra river were given the relief materials in two different relief distribution camps.

The relief materials included rice, dal, mustard oil, potato, salt, chira, candle, match box, ORS, mineral water, milk, biscuits, mosquito agarbatti, bath soap, sanitary napkins, etc.

On the sidelines of relief distribution, health camps were also conducted in both the villages where Dr Moon Moon Das of Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar and Dr Devendar Sachdev of Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences, (TRIHMS) Naharlagun checked the flood-affected people and distributed medicines with the help of Biswanath district administration and local youths of Gohpur.

Kristi Kendra, Naharlagun has extended its thanks to all sections of the people residing in Capital Complex, Itanagar, including organisations like Adi Baane Kebang (ABK) and ABK Women Wing, Itanagar and �Standing Together to Empower People� (STEP), Anajori SHG, Dream Team SHG, Lakshmi SHG, Little Rose School of Naharlagun and Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society for their support.
