ITANAGAR, June 28 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (retd), while chairing a high-level meeting at the Raj Bhavan here today, emphasised that the State�s first Sainik School, coming up at Pasighat, must start from August 27 next as scheduled and all required formalities and admission process must be completed in time.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Education Minister Honchun Ngandam, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Dr Mohesh Chai, Chief Secretary Satya Gopal, Secretary of Education Madhu Rani Teotia, Director of Sports Tadar Appa and principal of Sainik School, Goalpara (Assam), Capt Edwin Jothirajan.

Mishra, who has been championing the dream project, further stressed that the Pasighat Sainik School � one of the three Sainik Schools sanctioned for the State � must be one of the best schools in the country. He urged all stakeholders to put in a joint effort to provide �the best Sainik School in the country to our children.�

The Governor, while appreciating the Deputy Chief Minister for expediting the transfer of land required for the institute as requested by him, advised the State Government officials to speed up other formalities.

Capt Jothirajan, who is overseeing the work till regular a principal joins, gave a briefing on the new Sainik School.

The Governor advised the Chief Secretary to pass directions to all officials concerned to motivate the maximum number of students to appear for the first-ever entrance examination in Arunachal Pradesh for the Sainik School on July 22 next.
