�Arunachal Govt�s financial health stable�

ITANAGAR, June 26 � Arunachal Government Spokesman Bamang Felix has claimed that the State�s financial health is sound and stable and that there was no financial crisis at all as speculated.

�There had been lot of talks and rumours doing the rounds over the State�s financial position. But, let me reveal before you all that the State�s financial position is sound and stable. There is no financial crisis as speculated,� he said while addressing a press conference at the Chief Minister�s office premises here today.

While highlighting the priority sectors of the State Government for the next five years under the 14th Finance Commission, Felix disclosed that the State is committed to achieving the target of hundred per cent literacy rate, making the State the powerhouse of the nation and a top tourist destination and to promote horticulture and attain the status of a organic State.

�We in the State Government are committed for 100 per cent literacy in the State besides focusing on tapping the rich hydropower potentials and making Arunachal Pradesh the powerhouse of the country.

�Arunachal Pradesh will be made a top tourist destination in the coming years while with the huge horticultural potential, we will strive to make our State the horticultural bowl of the nation besides making it an organic State,� Felix said.

He also disclosed that a demand was made before the 14th Finance Commission, during its visit, to consider implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations for the State Government employees.

While terming yesterday�s AAPSU bandh as �unfortunate�, Felix clarified that appointment of advisers, chairmen, vice chairmen, etc., is the prerogative of the government. The government believes in taking services of people having technical know-how and others for the betterment of the State.
