Arunachal Govt enhances labour wages

ITANAGAR, Jan 22 - Much to the delight of the working class of the State, Arunachal Pradesh Government on Monday announced enhancement of minimum wages for both skilled and un-skilled workers of the State Government.

�True to his promise of offering New Year gift to State Government employees, Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced enhancement of wages for the labour class which is expected to bring cheers in lives,� said a communiqu� from the CMO here.

The order said, the initial wages of the un-skilled contingent employees/casual workers/daily labourers has been enhanced from Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 per month and from Rs 9,000 to Rs 11,000 for skilled contingent employees/casual workers/daily labourers.

Further, un-skilled contingent employees after completing 15 years and above in service were getting fixed wages of Rs 11,000 till retirement. They will now get Rs 13,000 from 15-20 year and Rs 16,000 as monthly wages after completing 20 years of service.

The skilled contingent employees after completing 15 years and above in service were getting fixed wages of Rs 11,500 till retirement. Now they will be paid Rs 14,000 as monthly wages during 15-20 year and after completing 20 years of service they will get Rs 17,000.

The State Government has around 35,000 skilled and un-skilled contingent employees. At least 5,000 of these contingent employees have completed 20 years in service.

The Chief Minister has affirmed to bear the additional financial implications which is coming to around Rs 100 crore.
