Arunachal cases reach 4,212

ITANAGAR, Sept 2 - The caseload of novel coronavirus in Arunachal Pradesh mounted to 4,212 as 100 more persons tested positive for the infection on Tuesday, according to a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here.

On the other hand, 94 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across the State following their recovery from the disease, taking the number of recovered cases to 2,979.

Arunachal Pradesh has, at present, 1,226 active COVID-19 cases, coupled with seven fatalities due to the virus, it said.

Of the 100 fresh cases, the Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for the maximum number of 35 cases, followed by Papum Pare (14) and Changlang (10). East Kameng recorded seven cases, East Siang six and West Kameng, Anjaw and Tawang reported five cases each.

Upper Siang detected four cases and Tirap three, while one case each was reported from Lower Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, West Siang, Kra Daadi, Lohit and Kurung Kumey.

The Itanagar Capital Complex continued to remain the worst affected with a total of 1,247 positive cases, including 1,033 discharged and 212 active cases along with two casualties.

Changlang remained in the second spot with 477 positive cases, including 119 active cases and 358 recoveries, while West Kameng has 372 confirmed cases, including 167 active and 203 cured cases along with two casualties.

Among the fresh infections, 16 cases were found to be symptomatic and 84 asymptomatic, as per the bulletin. Among 94 discharged cases, Tawang recorded 23, followed by West Kameng (22) and the Itanagar Capital Complex (14).

West Kameng saw the release of eight cases, Upper Subansiri seven, East Siang six, Changlang five, East Kameng four, Tirap two and Kamle, Lower Siang and Anjaw recorded one recovered case each.
