Arunachal Cabinet approves 2 pc DA hike for employees

ITANAGAR, June 10 - In what appears to be a big financial relief for the State Government employees and pensioners, Arunachal Pradesh Government has announced a two per cent hike in their Dearness Allowance (DA).

The State Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday accorded approval for release of 2 per cent DA to the State Government employees, All India Service officers on deputation to State Government and pensioners with effect from January 1, 2017, Govt Spokesperson Bamang Felix told reporters here today.

The Cabinet also approved the proposal of taking up one village in each Assembly segment for development as a �model� village under the CM�s Adarsh Gram Yojana 2017. Under the scheme, each identified village will get an allocation of Rs 1.50 crore.

The Cabinet, taking into consideration the critical manpower gaps, also gave its approval for creation of 164 posts in State Police, including 45 posts of head constable (drivers) for Fire & Emergency Services, 32 posts of DSP under APPS cadre, 80 posts of Inspector (Civil Police), four posts of Inspector (telecom) and three posts of Inspector (radio technician).

In a huge respite for the �sacked� Anganwadi workers of Tirap and Longding districts, the Cabinet also decided to reinstate them in their services.
