Artworks sought for ensuing NE exhibition

GUWAHATI, Feb 3 � The Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra Society is going to organize the Eighth North East States Exhibition of Art 2011-2012 at its Art Gallery and has invited entries for the same in the painting, sculpture, graphics and drawing categories.

The exhibition is open to all artists of the Northeastern region including Sikkim, who are of 18 years and above.

The art works created before July 5, 2009, exhibited in any all-India exhibition or at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra gallery, or which have got awards in any all-India exhibition would not be accepted as an entry in the Eighth North East States Exhibition of Art 2011-12.

There would be an entry fee of Rs 300 per schedule per section and the entries should reach the Kalakshetra office on or before February 13, 2012, mentioned a press statement.

There would be altogether three cash awards for the four categories of selected exhibits each carrying Rs 10,000. Ten exhibits adjudged as the best would also receive mention which would carry no award money.
