MANGALDAI, May 23 � Parul Devi, a renowned classical vocal artiste and a resident of Tengabari here breathed her last at her residence last afternoon. She was 82.
Born in the family of a prominent businessman Jogesh Dey, Parul Devi went to Lucknow in UP to pursue higher education in music in the famous musical university of Bhatkhande. Parul Devi died a spinster.
Her demise has cast a pall of gloom among the music lovers in Darrang, Udalguri, Tezpur, etc. She left behind two brothers and a sister.
Many organizations and distinguished individuals here have expressed deep shock at the demise of Parul Devi.
