GUWAHATI, June 2 - The Dao Division of the Indian Army is installing a statue of Bir Lachit Borphukan at Dinjan Military Station in Dibrugarh. The inauguration ceremony will be held on June 5. Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal will unveil the seven-feet statue. �Since the Dao Mountain Division is deployed in the State and draws inspiration from this great warrior, it was felt that installation of the statue of Bir Lachit Borphukan at Dinjan Military Station will go a long way in achieving the objectives of youth guidance,� a release stated.
