TEZPUR, Jan 1 In the Operation All Out against the NDFB(S), the Army is committed to instilling confidence among the people and restoring peace, stated Defence PRO Sombit Ghose while talking to this correspondent on Tuesday. Ghose further said that the GOC 4 Corps and the GOC 21 Mountain Division have been monitoring the entire situation.

One of the major problems in normalizing the situation is the spread of rumours, which makes the situation more complicated as a fear psychosis prevails among the people he added.

It may be mentioned here that a section of miscreants manhandled bus passengers of a particular community at Ahubari under the Itakhola PS on Tuesday. However, the Armys intervention restored normalcy.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur said that steps to normalize the situation by ensuring security in the tense and riot-hit areas and providing necessary goods like food, cloth, medicines and baby food to the affected people in the relief camps have been intensified. He added that the people from the relief camps have begun to return home.
