JORHAT, July 6 � A huge amount of arms and ammunitions were recovered from a triwheeler �Ape� at Kamalapukhuri Tiniali, Patiyagaon here on Wednesday evening. Two suspected ULFA cadres Rajat Dutta and Raju Saikia of Charigaon area were detained by Jorhat police. There was a modern hacker rifle, 68 round bullets, five China made bombs( RCED), one hand grenade, one bottle grenade, four Kg TNT, five fuses, one remote control, a magazine, one jacket to carry bullets and explosives inside the vehicle.
Later, Jorhat police arrested a couple Honmai Bora and Thanuram Bora from Dolakakhoriya Gaon who has kept the arms in their residence earlier. Raju and Rajat were supposed to give the arms to one Khargeswar Pegu of Dhodang Chapori. Police also arrested Khargeswar Pegu from Dhodang Chapori on Wednesday night.
According to a police source the arms and ammunition were taken from Myanmar to Dibrugarh and then from Dibrugarh to Jorhat. All the arrested persons were presented before the court on Thursday.
