JALUKBARI, Dec 21 - The Department of Arabic, Gauhati University celebrated the 3rd World Arabic Language Day recently in the conference hall of the department.
The meeting was presided over by Dr Abdul Majeed Nadwi, head of the Department of Arabic, GU. The welcome address was given by Mizazur Rahman Talukdar, a faculty member of the department.
As part of the celebration, the Dr Rupchand Ali Memorial Lecture on �Indo-Arab cultural Relations through the Ages� was delivered by the chief guest and keynote speaker Prof Abdul Razzak T, head of the Department of Arabic and dean, School of Foreign Languages, Assam University, Silchar.
Dr Raiz Uddin Alom, a faculty member spoke a few words on Dr Rupchand Ali�s contributions. Prof A Matin, Prof RK Mazumdar and Prof Rekibuddin Ahmed also spoke on the occasion, stated a press release.
