GUWAHATI, Non 25 � Ar-hima Football Club of Shillong sent Oil India Limited (OIL) Football Club packing with a 2-0 victory in a quarterfinal league match of 60th Bharat Ratna Lokapriya Bordoloi Trophy Football Tournament.
In a keenly contested encounter at the Nehru Stadium here today, after a barren first session, the Shillong boys fired two salvos through Baba Tunde. In the first session, both the teams played equally well and the momentum of the match was quite satisfactory. For OIL, Jayanta Basumatary and Abraham Bobby Fanny tried all out in search of goals but the water tight Ar-hima defenders foiled all their attempts with timely anticipation.
The nimble footed Shillong boys were seen better at the middle and were making good use of both the wings they troubled OIL defenders quite frequently. After a gruelling battle, Baba Tunde managed to get the breakthrough in the 68th minute and fired again in the added time just after regulation time.
