GUWAHATI, July 5 � Amid the demands for high level probe into the charges of irregularities in the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2013, conducted by the Assam Public Service Commission, a section of selected candidates rued that the handling of the entire process was taking a psychological toll on them.
Addressing the media here, the candidates appealed to all concerned not to make sweeping comments on all the candidates selected in the APSC 2013, since all were not the corrupt candidates.
�After the controversy erupted, we noticed a general trend of abusing the candidates by several organisations and individuals, who have been demanding probe into the matter. Since enquiries into several matters are already under way, the competent authorities would find out if anyone is guilty,� said Jyoti Pegu, a candidate successfully clearing the examination.
The candidates also demanded that the entire recruitment process should not be stalled due to this controversy. �Many public organisations are raising the issue on various forums, but we have not got any opportunity to place our concerns on the issue. No innocent should suffer due to insensitive handling of the issue,� said Nabanita Sarma, another candidate.
However, the candidates addressing the media refused to raise any demand of comprehensive inquiry into the matter to find out the guilty. �We are not authorised to demand any probe, neither do we defend any government or non government organisation. We are here as candidates who are concerned about the adverse psychological impact of the entire situation on the lives of candidates who have worked hard to clear this competitive examination,� said another candidate Birinchi Bora.
