GUWAHATI, Aug 9 - A group of renowned former cricketers, including Badal Thakur, Umesh Sarma, Prabir Hazarika, Raju Phukan, Mukut Das and Sankar Dutta Lahkar representing the Assam Ex-Cricketers Association, have expressed their concern over the hue and cry made by a group of cricketers over Assam Cricket Associations alleged mismanagement.

The ex-cricketers body revealed in a release that when the ACAs matter of graft is sub judice, a particular group of cricketers was unnecessarily creating an unsporting atmosphere. The former cricketers also stated that the 67-year-old ACA has a constitution and the body follows the constitution. So one or two officials cannot rule the organisation. But the protesters are targeting only the president and secretary, instead of all the officials.

The veteran cricketers appealed to the protesters not to create any untoward situation prior to the cricket season.
