Appeal for peace

DIPHU, Nov 2 - The All Assam Bengali Students and Youth Federation, Karbi Anglong district committee president Ankit Paul has appealed for peace and communal harmony among the people of various communities residing in this district in view of the 24-hour Assam bandh called by the central committee of the All Assam Bengali Students and Youth Federation tomorrow.

Through a press release issued at Diphu, Paul has also requested the district administration and the police to ensure safety and security of all communities, particularly the minority Bengali community spread across the eastern and western parts of Karbi Anglong district. He has urged all organisations to remain vigilant against anti-social elements trying to fan communal hatred.
