GUWAHATI, Nov 1 � The Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL) signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for purchase of 20 MW of solar photovoltaic power under the Jawaharlal Nehru Solar Mission-II from the 750 MW of power developed under the Mission.

An APDCL press release said here that the agreement was signed by Ramesh Kumar, General Manager (Solar) of the SECI and Manoj Adhikary, General Manager (TRC) of the APDCL representing their respective organisations.

The power from the project will be available from the financial year 2015-16.

The APDCL had acquired 5 MW of power since the financial year 2012-13 from the JNSM-I and thus it is going to acquire a total of 25 MW of power from the Mission with the recent agreement, said the press release.
