GUWAHATI, March 25 - The Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL) is replacing old electric conductors throughout the city so as to prevent interruption in power supply, particularly during the rainy season. APDCL sources told The Assam Tribune that the process called re-conductoring, which started about three months back, is expected to be completed in a few days. At present, trimming of trees is going on in several areas of Greater Guwahati. The APDCL resorted to power cuts during day hours in the city for the past three months to replace the old conductors, sources said. Snapping of conductors and power failure have become common features during the rainy season.
