APCC launches second round of agitation

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Sept 26 - The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has announced its second round of agitation against the Modi Government at the Centre for the soaring prices of essential commodities, recently.

This was announced here on Friday by the APCC vice-president and the former Education Minister, Ripun Bora, at a programme held at the office of the Biswanath Block Congress Committee to felicitate the newly-appointed Parliamentary Secretary, Manika Bora.

Bora said that the party workers would stage a dharna in front of the offices of Deputy Commissioners and Sub-Divisional Officers and submit memorandums. Criticising the BJP Government, the State Congress leader termed the BJP as a �Missed Call Party� which runs only through mobile phones controlled by the RSS.

He also flayed the government for throwing the State Congress Government into jeopardy by cutting short various funds like those of the MNREGA, flood relief etc. He called upon the party workers to go to the grass root levels to win the hearts of the common people and also to explain to them the wrong propaganda of the BJP Government.

Receiving felicitation from the party workers, Manika Bora, expressed her gratitude to them and requested them to work unitedly to strengthen the party. The programme was conducted by the block president and secretary, Biren Hazarika and Bhabananda Koch, respectively, while party leaders Zeus Nag, Nagen Gowala and Albert Phukan also spoke.

Social worker Jiten Bhagawati, Anchalik Panchayat chairman Shantanu Bhuyan and Nilamani Sharma were also present in the programme.
