GUWAHATI, April 26 - The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today said that the wife and the father-in-law of Sahanur Alam, the main accused in the Bardhaman blast, were arrested by the police from the residence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Bijan Mahajan.
This makes it clear whether it is the Congress or the BJP that is acting as the �sleeper cell� of the jehadis and which party is sheltering the jehadis, said senior APCC spokesman Ramen Barthakur in a statement here.
Barthakur also criticised the BJP for allegedly trying to cover up the criminal antecedents of some of the candidates it fielded during the recent State Assembly elections. The BJP should make it clear as to whether such people have become clean because of their joining the BJP or its allies, Barthakur said.
He has also dared the BJP to make public if it has any information on any of the purported police cases against APCC president Anjan Dutta.
