GUWAHATI, Jan 25 The Assam Sports Journalists Association (ASJA) has flayed the act of the Assam Olympic Association (AOA) for which the sports scribes had to face a humiliating situation before the flag-off function of the Assam contingent for the forthcoming National Games to be held in Kerala.

The AOA today arranged a flag-off ceremony at the Chief Ministers Koinadhara residence here and invited the sports journalists for covering the programme. But neither the AOA officials arranged any entry card for the scribes at the gate nor intimated the security personnels about the matter. As a result, the security staff on duty at the CM residences gate did not allow the scribes to attend the function. After waiting for a long time, they finally left the spot with a broken heart. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today flagged off the Assam contingent for the 35th National Games that will take place from January 31.
