Anup Chetia released from Guwahati jail

GUWAHATI, Dec 24 - ULFA leader Anup Chetia was today released from the Guwahati Central Jail after he secured bail in all the four cases registered against him.

Chetia came out of the jail this evening after the bail bonds were submitted.

Chetia, who has expressed his desire to be part of the ongoing peace talks involving the Centre, the State Government and the ULFA, was received by other pro-talks leaders of the outfit, including Sasha Choudhury and Raju Baruah.

After being extradited from Bangladesh, Chetia was brought to Guwahati on November 17 last by the CBI on transit remand and was produced before the court here.

He obtained bail in the last of the four cases (CBI case) yesterday.
