ANSCU begins first phase of agitation

By The Assam Tribune

KOHIMA, Nov 22 - Peeved over the failure of the State Government to release the Post Matric Scholarships for more than four months, the All Nagaland College Students Union (ANSCU) has started its first phase of agitation by wearing black badges.

The Centre has already released its share of 90 per cent of the scholarship amount to Nagaland on February 15, however, even after nine months the Nagaland Government has failed to release its meagre 10 per cent share, ANCSU president Zhoku Thuluo has alleged.

Recently an ultimatum was given to the State to release the pending scholarships on or before November 19 but they have failed, he said.

It is very sad that the Nagaland Government has failed to realise the importance of education, ANCSU said. PTI
