�Anomalies in flood relief did take place�

KALIABOR, Aug 14 - Keshab Mahanta, MLA, Kaliabor and Minister for Water Resources etc., has confessed that serious corruption/ anomalies had taken place in flood-relief distribution among the flood victims of Kaliabor area in the aftermath of the last flood havoc of August 2017.

At a press meet convened by him, Mahanta confessed to the fact in respect of distributing flood relief sanctioning letters where corruption came to light recently. Soon after these anomalies came to light, the affected people vehemently protested against the corruption.

The Kaliabor subdivisional administration has taken immediate proper steps in this regard, Mahanta disclosed. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has already given directions for a magisterial inquiry into these charges, he said. Mahanta announced that a magistrate will conduct a village-to-village visit to inquire properly about the losses incurred by the affected and deprived people and afer the inquiry report is submitted, flood relief will be distributed properly. Mahanta hoped that the public of Kaliabor will extend help and cooperation to him in all respects.
