Anomalies in Assam varsitys TDC results annoy students

By STAFF CORRESPONDENT

SILCHAR, April 7 - Even after the Assam University announced the results of TDC old semester examination, way beyond its promised 45 days timeline for declaring the results, students are grossly annoyed with the results replete with errors and anomalies. While some students said that the marks are largely inconsistent, others have complained that many students have been given zero marks, which is unacceptable.

It is unfortunate to see that the university authority is toying with the lives of the students maintaining a casual attitude in declaring the results. It took 100 days for the varsity to announce the results while it had assured that the results would be declared within 45 days of the examination, the students echoed.

Alleging anomalies and incomplete results, the students have submitted a memorandum to the Vice Chancellor of the varsity on Thursday urging him to set up a council for checking the results in a fair process. Also they demanded that the irregular results should be rechecked without charging fees from the students.

Meanwhile, admitting the delay in the announcement of the results, Prof Dilip Chandra Nath, Vice Chancellor of the university said that the administration is thinking to bring changes in the pattern and already the summer vacation period has been rescheduled from May to July, which shall allow the examiners to submit the papers within the stipulated time. We understand the concerns of the students over the alleged anomalies and we are reacting to the charges, the Vice Chancellor said.
