Annual session of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha

Narahari Ata Samannay Kshetra, Dhakuwakhana, Feb 5 � The 84th annual session of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha (SSS), the largest socio-cultural-literary-religious organisation of Northeast India, began here at Narahari Ata Samannay Kshetra at Sarala Pathar in Dhakuwakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district today.

The four-day mega congregation began with morning prayers and cleanliness ceremony and the inauguration of the gate of the Naamghar by Ramakanta Taid. The Mahendra Kamdali Road, leading to the main venue and its gate, was inaugurated by Gaurav Bothra, Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur. His Dhemaji counterpart, Ajeet Bordoloi inaugurated the gate of the main convention center.

Thousands of people attended the ceremonies.

The main stage of the session was inaugurated by Sayed Nazim Ahmed, vice-president of Asom Natya Sanmilan, followed by inauguration of Naam Samaroh and ethnic cultural festival by Nanda Kishore Maheswari, a veteran actor.
