GUWAHATI, Dec 2: Ankurjyoti Club will host the 21st edition of Ankurjyoti Challenge Limited Over Cricket Tournament for the Ratan Lal Singhania, former president of Assam Cricket Association and Mohini Devi Singhania Trophy at the Judges� Field here from December 5.

Giving details about the championship, Ankurjyoti Club president Rana Goswami and secretary Bablu Choudhury said, altogether 13 teams, including one outside the city team, Naharkatia Cricket Association are taking part in the 35-over championship which will be played in knock-out basis.

An amount of Rs 50,000 is at stake with Rs 12,000 for the winners and Rs 8,000 for the losing finalist. The semifinals and the final is scheduled to be played under lights.

Goswami revealed that they will also organise a tournament at the Latasil playground in memory of former Assam Ranji player Awisini Rajbangshi. The prize-money tournament is meant for boys U-14 years and will be played among institutions.

Host Ankurjyoti Club will play the opening match against Brahamaputra Boys Club . The other participating teams are-Bud Cricket Club, River Rine Club, Pace Club, City Cricket Club, Navajyoti Club, New Star Club, Genesis Club, Gauhati Town Club, Maharana Club, Navarang Club, Naharkatia CA.
