GUWAHATI, Oct 3 - Synchronising with Gandhi Jayanti, Kalakhar! The Documentary, a short animated film was released on October 2 at Mirza in South Kamrup, a press release said.
In a low profile event, poet Banajit Talukdar released the documentary. The documentary highlights the efficacy of �Kalakhar� as a hair rinsing substance compared to chemical containing liquids. Kalakhar usually prepared from dried banana (Bhim) variety (musa balbisiana kola) has alkaline properties.
The film aims at sensitising people about the eco-friendly benefits of Kolakhar and its massive prospects in creating employment avenues in the villages considering the generation of banana wastes on a large scale.
Kashiyoli Media, a battery of ecophiles produced the documentary on the basis of a story concept developed by Kishore Talukdar, a journalist of the State. Jintu Das and Manash Kamal Choudhury animated the film. Bichitra Sarma conducted the artworks. While Sikha Das was the narrator and director, Dipshikha Das, Nishita Mazumdar and Manash Pratim Kalita were the voice artists. Music and edition is by Manash Kamal Choudhury. Bibhushita Mali and Jnyaan Jyoti Kalita offered the vote of thanks at the end of the release programme.
