AMSU opposes Bodoland

By Correspondent

BONGAIGAON, Nov 25 The All Minorities Students Union (AMSU) has opposed the demand of Bodoland.

The central president of the body told mediapersons here that minorities and non-Bodo communities have been deprived of their constitutional rights and other opportunities in the BTAD. They have become the victims of violence and hatred in the Bodo belt. If so, then after the formation of Bodoland, all non-Bodos will have to leave becoming refugees in their own land.

Senior advocate of Gauhahati High Court HRA Chaudhuri expressed the same view in his speech. On the other hand, Central General Secretary, AMSU Rezaul Karim threatened to put an economic blockade around the BTAD if atrocities on minorities does not stop. All these minority leaders were present at the open session of the 15th annual conference of Bongaigaon District AMSU held at Kholabandha-Borpathar LP School playground here.
