Falguni Barman remembered

TEZPUR, Feb 12 - �Late Falguni Barman, who was a senior journalist of popular English daily The Assam Tribune, left for his heavenly abode at the young age of 42. His contribution towards the society through his 20 year-long journey of journalism will always be remembered.� This was observed by senior advocate Kasi Prasad Singh while speaking at a special commemoration programme organised at the Sahitya Sabha Bhavan here to commemorate the life of the senior sub editor of The Assam Tribune, Late Falguni Barman who breathed his last on January 12 last.

In the brief function, a new Assamese journal Subarna Axom edited by the uncle of Late Barman and noted lawyer, Subhash Biswas, which is dedicated to him, was also formally released by the president of Tezpur Sahitya Sabha, Hemanta Baruah. Senior journalist Pulak Kumar Deka also spoke on the life of the late journalist.

The programme presided over by senior journalist Nathmal Tibrawala and conducted by Pankaj Baruah was attended by Bhanuranjan Biswas, writer Mitradev Sharma, senior advocate Prayag Sharma, journalist Barlin Saikia and the family members of the late journalist.
