Amit Shah slammed for comments on Mahatma

By Correspondent

SILCHAR, June 14 - Members of the National Students Union of India and Silchar Lok Sabha level Youth Congress on Tuesday demanded an apology from the national president of the BJP Amit Shah for calling Mahatma Gandhi a chatur baniya.

The furious Congress members burnt effigies of Amit Shah and shouted slogans against the BJP president for belittling the Father of the Nation. The members echoed in unison that Shah should apologise for slinging mud on the Father of the Nation and shaming the freedom struggle. Amit Shah should seek public apology for such disgraceful remarks on the Mahatma, said Papon Deb, president of the Silchar Lok Sabha level Youth Congress.

On the other hand, condemning the chatur baniya comment by Amit Shah, Ruhul Alom Laskar, State general secretary of the Youth Congress said that this is an insult to each Indian living in the country. The remark by the BJP president has unmasked the real face of the BJP which is using the name of Mahatma Gandhi in schemes like Swachh Bharat only to merchandise its commercial interests, Ruhul Laskarmaintained.

Ruhul used the opportunity to warn the BJP president of dire consequences if he does not restrain himself from passing such shameful remarks.
