Amit hits ton as Nagaon post 324

GUWAHATI, April 26 � Opener Amit Sinha smacked a solid century to help Nagaon reach 324 in the first innings against Dibrugarh in the Elite Group Nuruddin Trophy senior inter-district cricket championship.

At stumps, Dibrugarh were 61 for one in their first innings.

On the opening day of the two-day league match at the Nehru Stadium here today, Nagaon made a solid start by adding 80 runs for the opening wicket partnership. Their scoring momentum went on as the middle order batsmen offered solid contributions.

Amit scored 102 off 115 balls with 12 fours and three sixes. Yaad-in Islam (51), Debojit Baruah (41), Amzad Ali (37), Sadiq Imran Choudhury (34) and Dhiraj Goswami (29) were the other notable contributors for Nagaon.

But the highlight of the day was remarkable bowling by Dibrugarh spinner Deepak Gohain who came out with a rich haul of seven wickets. Prasanta Sonowal was the other successful bowler with two wickets.
