GUWAHATI, Jan 10 - Assam Mountaineering Association (AMA) has been awarded ISO 9001:2015 certificate for its quality management system in promoting adventure sports.
The AMA, since its inception in 1963, has trained more than 18,000 people, both male and female, from all over the North Eastern region of India in different disciplines of adventure activities.
Apart from that, the State mountaineering body has organised several major events like � photography exhibition in the Northeastern region on adventure sports, bamboo rafting expedition on the river Brahmaputra from Saikhowaghat to Guwahati, Everest expedition in 2016, basic local rock climbing course every year, children�s adventure orientation camp among others, stated a release.
