All COVID-19 random samples from Dhubri dist test negative

DHUBRI, May 2 - In a bid to find out possible coronavirus infected patients in Dhubri district, other than those linked with Nizamuddin and Athgaon religious congregations, random samples for COVID-19 tests were collected on April 26. Fortunately, results of all the samples have turned out to be negative.

A total of 158 samples for COVID-19 tests were collected from Dhubri, Bilasipara and Chapar area from their containment zones. Talking to this correspondent, the Joint Director of Health, Dhubri, Sayed Imdadullah said, �Results of all these random tests have arrived and they have all turned out to be negative.�

It was also informed that the Health department collected the samples randomly at civil hospitals and BPHCs located in their respective areas.

It was also informed by the Joint Director that health workers had requested the people from these containment areas to get their samples tested and many people came out voluntarily. He also added that they have picked up volunteers cluster-wise from the containment zones for collecting the samples for COVID-19 testing.

In the district as on Saturday, 5073 persons are in home quarantine and 202 persons are in mass quarantine centres.

It may be informed here that till Saturday as many as 920 samples have been collected for COVID-19 tests, out of which results of 500 tests have arrived. Out of these 500, 495 are COVID-19 negative and 5 are COVID-19 positive, while results for 420 samples are still awaited.
