BONGAIGAON, Aug 9 � �The only solution to ongoing clash between Bodos and Muslims in BTAD lies in formation of Kamatapur State with ST status to Koch Rajbongshis,� leaders of AKRSU, Chilarai Sena, Koch-Rajbongshi Mahila Samiti and BTAD Koch-Rajbongshi Sanmilani advocated this view at a press conference held this noon at Greater Bongaigaon Press Club here.
Pointing to the comment made by Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Wednesday in Parliament that KLO was involved in the first killings in BTAD, AKRSU adviser Biswajit Roy said that this is nothing but a deep political conspiracy to ignite communal clash between Koch-Rajbongshis and Muslims in BTAD for narrow political gain. In the same manner, the then SP of Kokrajhar Jitmal Doley was also trying hard to link Koch-Rajbongshis with the killing of Muslim youths at Angthihara at Gossaigaon, alleged Biswajit Roy. The SP even put pressure on some Koch-Rajbongshi youths, whom he arrested on false charges as KLO cadres, to admit the killing of Muslim youths, alleged Atul Roy, another adviser of AKRSU, at the press meet.
Biswajit Roy questioned that if they knew the culprits of such killings then why didn�t the government take action against the perpetrators of the crime earlier and why the government had sought CBI inquiry into the clash in BTAD. Besides, the leaders demanded resignation of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on moral ground as he had failed to provide security to the common people in BTAD and its adjoining areas. The leaders also demanded to rehabilitate those Koch-Rajbongshis who had been displaced from their native villages in BTAD as victims of clash since 1982.
