JORABAT, Dec 8 - Close on the heels of the arrest of two police officers in connection with the Jogdal murder case, there is a lot of renewed media focus on the sensational case with the names of a few influential persons like former Congress minister Akon Bora getting linked to it.
Meanwhile, office-bearers of the Dispur Assembly Youth Congress Committee (DAYCC) today organised a press conference at Sonapur, where they sought to clarify that Akon Bora was in no way involved in the murder case.
DAYCC vice president Nur Ahmed Laskar said that former Dispur MLA Bora and the Congress party were in fact in favour of the quick solution of the case.
The Youth Congress unit also issued a warning to those who have made allegations about Boras involvement in the case in the media. It was also critical of the role of RTI activists and student leaders, who have been clamouring for the arrest of the culprits behind the mass murder. It may be mentioned here that there was no headway in the case during the erstwhile Congress regime in the State. The case has lately gained attention after the arrest of the two police officers by the CID for the alleged destruction of evidence.
