KOHORA, June 10 AJYCP has expressed serious doubt over the integrity of government-nominated experts who are going to look after the possible negative impact of down stream habitat of both human being as well as flora and fauna.

Addressing a press meet at Kohora today, the president of AJYCP Monoj Baruah said that it is the policy of Central Government to exploit the natural wealth and generate electricity through hydor-electric projects from the North East region especially Assam to meet the power requirement at different places of the country, adding that with the aim of generating excess power than the actual requirement for whole north-east region, government simply wanted to derive benefit at the cost of the natural wealth of the region.

With regard to change of demographic profile of Assam, Baruah along with the advisers of AJYCP Putul Dutta and Dilip Patgiri, said that the illegal migration from Bangladesh must be stop for the best interest of indigenous people adding that even there have been reports from time to time that some of illegal migrants have been living near Kaziranga National Park which is not healthy in terms of conservation of this biodiversity hotpsot.

He pointed out that some of commercial establishments are already blocking the crucial elephant corridor near the National Park, and these will come under the scanner of National Green Tribunal which has already asked the State Government to check the activities of stone quarry units and brick kilns operating in Karbi Anglong area near Kaziranga.
