GUWAHATI, March 10 The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) will wait for the Congress list of nominees for some of the Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs) of Barak Valley, North Bank and the Upper Assam districts, which are going for elections in the first phase on April 4 next.

Meanwhile, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is preparing to finalise its fourth and final list of nominees. The list is expected tomorrow.

AIUDF media secretary Haider Hussain Bora told this newspaper that the top brass of the party held a meeting yesterday with the members of the party election committee and assessed the party position in the above LACs.

They decided to wait for the Congress list of nominees before announcing the AIUDF nominees names for those constituencies, Bora said.

AGP spokesman Apurba Bhattacharjee told this newspaper that the election committee of the party was holding its meeting, at the time of filing this report, to finalise the fourth list of party nominees. The party steering committee will meet tomorrow to endorse the names of the nominees being selected by the election committee, said Bhattacharjee.

The party is to finalise its list of nominees for 54 LACs now. It has already announced the names of its nominees for 70 LACs.

The party has entered into an electoral understanding with the Gana Shakti to not to field any candidate in Jonai and Majuli LACs. It is also to share a few seats with the Bodoland Peoples Progressive Front (BPPF) and the United Democratic Peoples Front (UDPF).
